This horizontal structure boasts two homes of equal sizes and one common wall (insulated of course). Each unit has a one-car garage, entry-area, open concept kitchen, dining and living room as well as an office (that can function as a guest room) and powder room on the first floor. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms, a common bathroom, and a primary suite.
The outside space has a covered back patio connecting to a pergola for privacy and shade. The materials are a nice combination of Hardie siding and treated wood for the transitional modern look while also being maintenance-free.
With this design we are playing with positive and negative wall surfaces for visual interest while providing a functional interior floor plan. The Dogwood Duplex is designed for either the builder or a homeowner who wants to live on one side of the structure and produce income from the other side. Build one or build many of these as a neighborhood and we will help you customize the exteriors for an interesting and well-designed neighborhood.
