What’s Your Design Style? Take the Quiz to Find the Right House & Interior Style for You

Whether you’re planning a renovation, building a new home, or simply trying to figure out what you love, our Design Style Quiz can help you narrow it down.

And the best part? You don’t need to have the perfect design vocabulary to get started. Just answer a few simple questions about the spaces, materials, colors, and details you’re naturally drawn to, and the quiz will help you identify your interior design style and architectural style.

Your results can help you make more confident choices – not just when exploring Unfold’s interior design packages, but anytime you’re searching for inspiration on Google, Pinterest, or Instagram. Instead of searching for “pretty living rooms” and getting completely overwhelmed (we’ve all been there!), you can start searching for specific styles that actually feel like you.

What’s Included in the Design Style Quiz?

The quiz asks questions about the things that make a house feel like home to you, including:

  1. What is on the floor in your ideal living room?
  2. What is the wall “mood”?
  3. What is your dream sofa?
  4. How do you feel about pattern and print?
  5. What material can you not live without?
  6. What is your relationship to “stuff”?
  7. What is your preferred window treatment?
  8. If your home was a vacation, it would be…

Your answers will help point you toward a design style and give you a customized color palette to help bring your vision together.

What’s Amy Dutton’s Design Style?

When I take the quiz, my results are Japandi and Cape, along with a customized palette.

And honestly? I love that the results don’t have to put you in one perfect little design-style box. You can use your results to explore the interior design packages that align with your preferences and start gathering inspiration for your home.

Don’t get too caught up in the precise results, either. You can always retake the quiz!

I tend to lean more toward a cozy eclectic style, mostly because my house is filled with things that are inherited, collected, and special to me. And yes, I live in a bungalow, so getting “Cape” as one of my results feels close enough.

That’s really the point of the quiz: your home should reflect you, not fit perfectly into a predefined design style.

Use Your Design Style Results to Plan Your Home

Once you know more about your design style, you can use those keywords to make your design process so much easier.

Try searching your style on:

  • Google for architectural and interior design inspiration
  • Pinterest for rooms, color palettes, materials, and furniture
  • Instagram for designers, homes, and real-life projects

Knowing your design style can also make it easier to communicate what you like (and what you definitely don’t like!) when working with an interior designer or architect.

So, what’s your design style?

Take the quiz, explore your results, and see which house and interior design styles feel most like home.

And if you have questions about your results or want to talk through what they mean for your project, you can schedule a quick 15-minute consultation and we can review your results together on Zoom.

Enjoy!
